In the same way that there is a jumping competition for Young Riders at the World Equestrian Festival, there is also one for young dressage riders, namely the Prize of Liselott and Klaus Rheinberger Foundation. The first pair to compete won the class.

The former Children European Champion, Clara Paschertz, is in the meantime 18 years old and has established herself on the Junior scene with the Oldenburg-bred stallion, For Gold. The FEI individual test for this age category was what they presented today on their first appearance at the Aachen Soers. The judges awarded the first pair to go a score of 71.794 percent. A score that the rest of the field tried in vain to top. Second place went to Poland, to Veronica Pawluk, who lives in Rhineland, with her also Oldenburg-bred mare, Fallete (70.559), followed by Amber Hennes from Belgium with Nesa Stables Allegro v/h Trichelhof (69.677).

“The ride was great fun!“, said a delighted Clara later, explaining: “I am very pleased with how the test went. But simply riding into the arena was fantastic – when everyone applauded and then after the test… it was simply mega fun!“ Whereby she had hardly expected to claim the victory as the first starter of the competition. “Not at all. My result was superb, of course, but it was nail-biting right through to the finish. Of course you hope, but there were plenty of good riders, who still had to compete. That is why I am all the more delighted that nobody beat my score.“

She stated that it is not only great to be at the CHIO Aachen, just because it is Aachen: “Being together with all of the professionals behind the scenes, is simply a wonderful feeling.” One can learn a great deal from that. “Watching the competitions is cool, of course, too. But seeing them warm up too. The calmness of the professionals and how they take the feeling of the warm-up arena with them into the competitions – that is definitely something one can learn from!“

The dressage youngsters are competing again tomorrow in the freestyle class.
